So you just hit the gym and totally killed your workout, but now what? One of the most important parts of your workout is giving your body the proper nutrition it needs to repair your muscles. This means you should have a snack ASAP after you finish your workout. Keep reading to find out the best foods to repair your body.

When we lift weights or do cardiovascular exercise, we create micro-tears in our muscles. As those tears repair, our muscles become stronger. The key to getting stronger, more shapely muscles is making sure your body has the right tools to repair your muscles when it needs them the most.


By eating a post-workout snack, you give your body the carbohydrates it needs to replenish energy stores in your muscles as well as protein to rebuild the damage that has happened in your muscles. This means you’ll be sure to grow closer to your fitness goals every time you hit the gym.

After every gym session, within 30 minutes after you end your workout, eat one of the snacks below. All of these contain protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats that give your body the building blocks it needs for your muscles.
